Isn’t it too risky to give my credit card number ? What are the security procedures you use ?

No, it is not risky. Anyway, not more than on the main commercial websites. Everything is implemented to secure the transaction. Thus, like the https symbol shows, the payment page is secured. The society working with us for the booking process (Availpro) uses CIC performances for the bank transactions.

Everyone does his job. For us hotelaparis, it is to be a portal for Parisian hotels, for the CIC, it is to guarantee the safety of banking operations. CIC is one of the major banks in France. Moreover, the reservation process on hotelaparis / availpro is secured by Thawte, according to the SSL 123 certificate.

Who and what is Availpro ? I saw this name on the reservation page

Availpro is a society that operates the reservation engine technology and manages the availability you can see on hotelaparis.

Please note that hotelaparis is not affilitated to Availpro, Availpro is not an editor of hotel web sites, and does not sell hotel rooms. It only sells its own technology to sites like hotelaparis and also to some hotels. Thus, hotelaparis is a client of Availpro, since hotelaparis rents Availpro's technology.

All the charming hotels you can find on hotelaparis are also clients of Availpro, this technology allows hotels to directly manage their room avalabilities and rates, so you can have a guaranteed reservation.

Moreover, the presence of a charming hotel on hotelaparis is the result of a collaboration agreement between the hotel itself and hotelaparis (and not Availpro).

If I reserve in an hotel, am I sure that my reservation will be confirmed and that I will have a room in this hotel? I already have had unlucky experiences in the past where I found myself in another hotel than the one I reserved.

Yes, you have the guarantee to sleep in the hotel you booked. The hotel made a commitment by contract with hotelaparis. However, in case of force majeure (strike, inundation...) the hotel promises to find a substitute solution.

Moreover, it's the hotels and not hotelaparis who establish the number of available rooms for such or such day. So, the hotels have an overall view of their occupancy planning, and perfectly know if they have available rooms such or such day, and consequently, they adapt the number of available rooms on hotelaparis.

Besides, during your reservation, you can see the number of available room in each kind of room and for each asked day. After having done your reservation, if you start another reservation (without confirming it) you will see that there is one available room less (or more depending on your first reservation), which proves that there is a limited number of available rooms and that the hotel manages its own availability. The room(s) you oder are destocked.

What guarantees to me that my reservation is well confirmed ?

Your reservation is well confirmed. Here is what happened backstage during your reservation.

- you receive a confirmation email from hotelaparis.com with the hotel and all the details of the reservation you made. This confirmation also mentions the amount you had to deposit online and the balance you will pay to the hotel at your departure (plus potential extras)

- at the same time, we send a confirmation to the hotel by email (and sometimes a fax for last minute reservations). So, the hotel is also informed of the details of your reservation (date, kind of room, name...), of the amount you paid online and what you have to pay at your departure.
